Method
- Sift the matcha powder into a bowl or wide mug to remove any clumps.
- Add the hot water to the powder.
- Using a bamboo whisk or electric frother, whisk vigorously in a zig-zag motion until the tea is fully dissolved and a frothy layer forms on top.
- Stir in your sweetener if using.
- For a Hot Latte: Heat your milk until steaming (do not boil) and froth it using a frother. Pour the warm milk over the matcha base.
- For an Iced Latte: Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour cold milk over the ice, then slowly pour the whisked matcha on top for a beautiful swirl effect.
Notes
Always use water that is below boiling point to prevent the matcha from becoming bitter.
