Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup hot water or coffee
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting or ganache

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Whisk wet ingredients in another bowl.
  4. Combine both mixtures and add hot water or coffee.
  5. Pour into cake pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  6. Cool completely.
  7. Layer with frosting and strawberries.
  8. Decorate and serve.
